Great hat to protect from the sun
This hat is extremely comfortable, even for a larger head like mine—it fit perfectly. The adjustable straps easily allow it to be sized down for smaller heads. The brim is the ideal width to provide great sun protection for both the face and the back of the neck. It’s easy to adjust, holds its shape well, and will be a lifesaver for my job, where I’m in the sun constantly.

The PERFECT sun hat
Perfect! The last time I ordered this (as a back up for one I already have and love) I was sent a bucket style hat. This time I received the wide brim as pictured and it is perfect!I love the linen and my thick, curly hair fits comfortably under it. Plus, it is well made and easily foldable for packing.All around my favorite sun hat for going to the beach or working in the garden.

Beautifully made; all function, not fashion
This hat is beautifully made. The fabric (I really wanted natural fibers, and 80% linen was even better) and stitching are top notch. I love the colors and that it’s adjustable to fit. Another great feature is the covered ponytail slot; a lot of hats with the ponytail feature have an open hole, leaving an exposed patch on the back of your head if you don’t have your hair tied up.It does a great job shading my head and neck. With such a large brim, the chin strap is a must, though I do wish it could lock into place for windy days.I decided to update this review and raise my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Yes, it looks kind of goofy on me (lampshade), especially since I’m short. I’m really glad the brim is wired so I can adjust it a bit, but at the end of the day, it’s about function, not form.If I could have tried it on in person, I would’ve gone for a style with a smaller brim. But seeing as it came from Australia (I’m in the US and didn’t realize it was coming from overseas) and I love everything else about it, I won’t bother with an exchange. I received my order in only 5 days! For $7.95 shipping, that’s a bargain.

Excellent sun protection , but hot
As for sun protection, this hat gets 5 stars! It’s the only one I could find with a 5″ brim, and it blocks the sun from your entire face. You can bend the brim as needed for sun direction, so it still works well in the morning and afternoon. It’s a cotton/ linen blend and is a bit heavy, compared to the lighter weight polyester/ nylon hats, but it completely blocks the sun. It would not be great for super hot days or when you’re sweating a lot. I have thick curly hair and it was a bit hot, even on 70* days. And it gave me pretty severe “hat head” after an hours walk. I’ve worn it on some fairly windy days and it does OK staying on with the chin strap. It can be tightened around your head with elastic, but if you pull it on too much, you can’t see out from under it. It lays flat for packing. I needed a hat strictly for sun protection on my face and this one is much better than my straw hat (fashionable but allows sun through the holes), or my Eddie Bower nylon sun hat (cool and light but only a 3″ brim). Depending on the features that are most important to you, this hat meets the sun protection factor, but is very pricey and doesn’t deliver on all features.

Light and breathable sun protection!
I wore this hat for ten consecutive days in Italy last summer. I am extremely pale and covering my whole body is a must. The sun coverage is amazing with the wide brim. The wire rim makes the shape adjustable and the elastic cord around the head tightens perfectly to keep the hat from blowing off in the wind.Best of all, the light material is breathable! A sun hat does little good if you’re taking it off every few minutes to wipe your brow and fan yourself, which is what usually happens when I wear big sun hats. I could feel the breeze on my scalp through the material and never felt the need to take it off due to overheating. It protected me the entire trip.Despite its size, it’s easy to travel with! It folds flat to pack in a carryon and rolls up to stuff in side a large handbag when you go indoors.

I ordered size L-XL and they sent me S-M! There is no option to reach out to the seller and even submit an exchange. I think they were out of L-XL and just sent me the S-M! I love the quality and style of this hat but I will need the larger size.

Fashionable sun hat with super sun protection
Maybe the best sun hat I’ve ever purchased. I purchased it for a day at the U.S. Open. The coverage was fantastic – including the sides of my face. It fit well also. The hat travels well and I plan to order another color this summer.

A+ Sun Protection!
I’ve tried so many sun hats looking for a unicorn, and this one is it! After having skin cancer removed from my nose last year at 37, I was in need of some fashionable and functional ways to protect from the UV. I love that it covers my entire face and neck. Unlike heavy straw hats, this fabric hat is lightweight, and the wire in the brim is awesome for keeping it from flopping into your face. Even without using the drawstring, the adjustable elastic in the back helps keep the hat in place in wind. It’s also super packable an folds completely flat.

I haven’t washed it yet, but I’m very glad I bought it so far. It’s cool and comfortable and while providing great shade, the wide brim is so designed (sloping down) that it doesn’t catch on my collar at the back, nor interfere with turning my head side to side – unique among the very many hats that I have. I can even wear it driving, with the brim at the front turned up my peripheral vision and head turning is not compromised, while my eyes and the side of my face can be protected from the low slanting sun. I feel stylish and protected with this hat.

Mercifully the large size is plenty roomy enough for my huge head so no more squeezing in. Nice robust fabric and adjusting cables and the wire in the rim moulds very well. My husband did say I looked a tiny bit like one of the mushrooms in Mario but acknowledged that it would be great for walking and watching cricket
