9″ Mid Rise Denim Bermuda Short

Love These Shorts!
I’m loving these faded jeans! Definitely feels “old school” in the sense of its color (brings back childhood memories of the 1970s) and, obviously, matches with any color top in your wardrobe, which equals versatility. Personally, I think one could wear these shorts with nearly any style top, whether a T-shirt or something less casual-looking. Also, a variety of shoe styles would look good with these shorts: sneakers, flip flops, and sandals of various heights and styles. Good quality and the denim material doesn’t feel or look bulky at all. The shorts are slim-fit, so they’re not supposed to be loosey-goosey.The denim shorts are super soft and comfortable. I am very short (5’1/2″), so the leg length of these Amazon Essential Bermuda shorts are longer on me than they would be on someone taller. However, I don’t mind one bit, as I’m too old to wear Daisy Dukes. I always have a length issue when buying clothes due to my height and current weight (no matter if it’s pants, shorts, tops [tank tops are the worst! the holes near my underarms are always WAY too big and show too much!], or dresses)—the shorter and more plus-size one is, the more difficult it is to find clothing that fits perfectly, never mind even simply having a decent fit. This particular style of denim shorts fit me well for my personal preferences as a short, plus-sized woman.I’ve been on a weight loss journey for about 1 1/2 years, so I keep having to buy new clothes all the time now (haven’t gained a single pound back of the 60lbs I’ve lost so far! YAY! 50 more to go!). Because of that journey, the size I bought are CURRENTLY a smidgeon too small in the waist, but I did that purposely since summer hasn’t even begun yet and I expect to keep losing weight. I will say the Amazon Essentials Bermuda shorts are true to size, though! If I had bought the next size up, I doubt the shorts would fit my waist during the summer months. I probably would be busting a sag by the beginning of August.Overall: Affordability is okay (some sizes are currently cheaper than the size I purchased); soft, comfortable material; vast versatility of shirt styles and shoes can be worn with the shorts. Happy with my purchase (I do love the shorts!). However, I don’t appreciate Amazon NOT having ALL sizes the same low price of $12.53 of their Limited Time Deal on this product; penalizing women for being a certain size is an unfair and mean-spirited practice.

Great fit in hard to find size.
Great fit, well made, true to size, very stretchy, great price. I saw some reviews saying that they are big in the legs and don’t fit as pictured. I own two pair and both fit exactly as they do on the model. They are very comfortable and move with you because they are so stretchy but they look like 100% denim. For reference, I am 4’11”, 103 lbs, 26” waist, 35” hips. I ordered a size 0 and they fit perfectly in the waist, hips and legs. I was so happy to find my size here on Amazon that I bought four pair, I have two, waiting for the other two to arrive.

They need half sizes
While these shorts seem to be a descent quality, the sizing can be better. With my recent weight gain, I’m about a size 14 now. I’m 5’6” and weigh about 203 lbs for reference. Originally I bought these in a size16 because that was the recommended size. With the stretchiness, they were too big. I could stick my arm in the short with them buttoned up. I returned them & got a size 14. While I can button them up, they are too tight in the waist for my comfort. The thighs & butt area fit perfectly. I bought them for a trip & the last thing I want is the fear of the button popping off while I’m away.

I LOVE these shorts!! They’re the most comfortable shorts I’ve had in years. They fit really well on my old, thicc bod. Stretchy, soft, but still hold up well. They seem to be true to size. I own several pairs now in different colors. My one nitpick is something other people have pointed out as well–which is the cuffs only being tacked on the sides, and after the first wash, they just get unmanageable. Do yourself a favor and before you wear or wash them for the first time, stitch the cuffs into place…either by adding a few extra tacks or just hemming them properly all the way around (which is what I did). You’ll be glad later! And if you do it before you ever wear/wash them, they’re already nicely pressed and easy to do. If you wait until after they’ve been washed the first time, it takes forever to iron them back into place.
