Lightweight, Packable and Warm
It is everything I was looking for. It’s very lightweight, has good insulation and will easily smush down to fit in a backpack. I purchased the navy blue-it’s a very dark blue- I’m 5’5” & about 165 lbs; and it comes down to the top of my knees. Sleeves are about 3” too long which is nice to keep hands warm. I did size up (I usually wear an XL in Columbia tops) and ordered a XXL, so I would have extra room to wear heavier weight tops. So glad I did that, as it is quite comfortable & cozy. Most of my weight is in my midsection (not busty -just the 70 year old belly going on). If you’re younger, and still have a waistline, I think you could stay with your usual size. Both outside pockets have zippers, as well as a double zip front. The quality is superb, so I’m expecting it to last many decades of wear and tear. I know it’s a bit spendy, but it’s well worth the price. I would highly recommend this jacket.

Very nice but sleeves run a little long.
Great color and Columbia quality. Very warm and comfortable. The sleeves are an inch or 2 long. But it’s not a big deal to me. I’m 5′ 5″ and 240# the 2X fits with some breathing room. I love the lightweight jacket and warmth it provides.

Great warm mid length jacket
Great jacket! Love the fit and style, nice and warm too. I love the length as it covers my bum, which is great for outdoors or sitting. I sized up one size to be able to layer thicker sweaters and sweatshirts underneath easily since it is an “athletic fit”. I may have been able to get away with my regular size, but I’m fine with the additional room too.

You Won’t Regret Your Purchase
I love that this is lightweight yet so warm. I have a shorter one, but wanted this longer length to keep my legs warmer in these Idaho winters. I love that I can unzip it from the top or the bottom. The size M is perfect, so I can wear a bulky sweater underneath it. I ALWAYS buy Columbia Sports coats and still have them even from 10 years ago!! They are well worth the money you spend. This is my 5th one, and I still use every one of them!

Nice for average cool weather
I live in Wisconsin and am always looking for a winter jacket that actually keeps me warm. This jacket is light and comfy and works for average cold weather (20s and 30s Farhenheit). I got a size bigger than I need so I can layer up on extra cold days.
