The stick has a nice smell to it. I use it on my face. It doesn’t have heavy moisture. You’d probably have to reapply if you really dry.

My skin has been looking a bit dull and tired lately, so I ordered this Skin Food Repairing Serum Stick by Weleda in hopes of perking it up. Honestly, it was the “skin food” phrase that got me interested in trying it out. The product arrives boxed with no security seal, and inside is the stick which again, has no security seal. I do hope that the brand addresses this at some point.This serum rolls up out of the tube like deodorant, and it smells lemony. When first applied to the skin it feels a little sticky, but once it fully absorbs it left my skin feeling softer with no tacky residue. It leaves a subtle sheen, which I guess most people call a “glow” these days, and the finish looks natural and healthy. Other than my skin looking dewy I can’t say I’ve noticed much difference after using it, but I suppose with time the overall health of my skin would improve. The formulation contains a balanced blend of humectants and emollients for hydrating and softening. It also contains some nice soothing ingredients like cica and chamomile.To my mind, the most important ingredients in this serum are those that have antioxidant properties. These include chamomile, centella asiatica, rosemary extract, calandula, and sunflower seed oil ( vitamin E). These are the ingredients thatcan provide protection against free radicals and other environmental aggressors that can damage and age the skin.Having said that, I am just not wowed by this serum. It is convenient for traveling and spill proof, but I’m not enthusiastic about applying serum from a gel stick. But really, my main disappointment is that the ingredients are pretty standard, and there is really nothing in it for firming, brightening, or smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. I guess I expect my serum to do more in way of addressing specific issues, but this serum seems formulated more for the same function as a moisturizer. Currently it is selling for $19.99, and that sounds about right for the good skin friendly ingredients that it does have.
