  1. Glut & Lack: troublemaking twins

Well made T-dress in soft, summer weight 100% COTTON
As an elastane/spandex/lycra-hating cotton snob, I LOVE this fabric. Because it’s so lightweight, I can’t complain about it being pocketless. (I THOUGHT the matching shorts had them; they do NOT. I confused them with Jockey’s longer, Bermuda length ones, sadly now discontinued – along with its gowns that are like these only mid thigh length.)By actually finishing the neckline instead of slapping on a ribbed band like crew necks have, Nautica makes these much more comfortable, not to mention better looking. At 5’1″ I’m a somewhat chunky 145 pounds. I like roomy clothes, so I ordered Large, which, before laundering, hits my (sadly, shortish) legs at mid knee. It’s hard to find anything that’s 100% cotton, especially when “cotton” in a listing title is used to mean the garment contains as little as 60% cotton, and “all cotton” clothes almost always contain elastane (originally it was 1%, then 2%, then 5%, and now it is often 10%)I hate the feel of anything clingy or sproingy. Even a little elastane makes me feel hotter. I also appreciate that cotton doesn’t grab stains and odors and hold onto them forever. And when the garment finally wears out, it can be used for various purposes. People don’t have to pretend they recycle, and charities don’t have to spend a ton of money sending unsellable donations that have no other possible use to a landfill.Mixed natural-synthetic fabrics and that heavily polluting viscose/rayon/”bamboo” (unless it’s the one of the few expensive kinds made using a patented closed-loop process) do not lend themselves to recycling, re-using, or even functioning well as rags. This is unfortunate, since they are used for the vast majority of affordable, trendy clothes (and, more and more, the not-so-affordable ones). And nowadays, ways have been developed of growing cotton with less water.Thank you, Nautica!

    100% cotton sleep tee-shirt/gown!
Nautica sleep tee-shirt/gown is 100% cotton, comfortable and soft and very breathable for hot and humid summer nights. Most sleep shirts and gowns, even those claiming to be cotton are a blend, so finding Nautica 100% cotton gowns was a real plus, so I purchased 2, – pretty in pastel blue and in pastel pink. Seems and hems are adequately finished.True to size, I purposely sized up, for added roominess and to compensate for some shrinkage when laundered. Although I wash all my clothing in cold water and tumble dry on low heat (or sometimes air dry) 100% cotton jersey is expected to shrink at least 3-5% (if pre-shrunk) and possibly more (if not pre-shrunk) after 1st wash. The length on the model hits about mid-thigh but (pre-wash) hits me at the top of my knees; I am 5’4″.

    Comfy sleep-T
This sleep-T could be just a tad longer – it’s several inches above my knee. However, that also means there’s less fabric to get twisted around me during the night. The cotton is good quality – soft and light, but not at all flimsy in my opinion. I got a small and it seems true to size. I’m 5’1”, 127 lbs with 36” chest and 37” hips. It’s loose enough to be comfortable and does not bind anywhere. I hang dry all my clothes; it didn’t shrink after washing, but machine drying might shrink this item. This will be my go-to nightie during the hot summer nights coming up. As mentioned in other reviews, it’s hard to find all-cotton sleep-T’s that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Oh, and it’s got a printed tag! I got the Navy and it’s a really nice shade, not too dark. I’m happy with this nightie!

Great lightweight material, 100% cotton, on the short side
I’ve been buying these for several years, and am pleased to report that my latest order (August 2025) is still the same great quality, still 100% cotton. The material is fairly thin and not clingy, which I personally prefer for sleepwear. The other 100% cotton nightgowns I have are from Lands’ End, and I personally find the Lands’ End Supima Cotton nightgowns a little too thick for optimal comfort. This Nautica material is pretty thin – not as thin as the thinnest tissue t-shirt, but pretty thin. I have these in black and navy, which aren’t see-through at all, but I’m not sure if it might be a bit see-through in lighter colors.I wish these were a few inches longer, but I’m still giving 5 stars because they’re really the most comfortable nightgowns I’ve found. It’s the kind of length where it’s fine if you’re just standing with your arms at your sides, but it gets a bit iffy if you’re reaching your arms up over your head, and it gets very iffy indeed if you have to pick something up off the floor…size up to get a little more length.

    100% cotton finally!
Finally an item that isn’t a cotton blend this is actually 100% cotton. It’s soft and washes well. Highly recommend. I just wish they had more colors and designs! It holds well and is flattering and comfortable.

    smaller than the old ones
I have 2 of the Nautical sleep tees with the little anchor charm at the neck and the sail boat embroidery on the hem. I sized up in them and ordered a 2x. They are very rooms and quite lightweight … 100% cotton and I absolutely love them . I received this one and it isn’t quite the same. it is cut a bit slimmer than previous. I (again) sized up and this one is almost snug on me… definitely tighter in the bust than previous?? The V-neck is much higher. There is no charm or embroidery and the fabric feels …. less cottony? Overall not sure how I feel about this one. I will wash several times … although I am almost afraid to dry it for fear of shrinkage. (the old ones did not shrink at all). So… it runs small and I would size up.
