I have returned many books purchased for a precocious 5-year-old girl because, while most of the books (carefully selected based on reviews) are beautifully illustrated, the stories are some combination of dull, plotless or surprisingly nearly pointless. Must have for anyone with children! This book has a beautiful and important message, and it’s beautifully illustrated as well. It’s never too early to talk to your children about gratitude and model it as well. I love that Ms. Ortego’s books talk about practical applications at the end too.

The book was very simple with a strong message. It was written in ryhme and even the little girl who was only 5 grasped the story and more importantly the message! I personally live/love this stuff and teaching them early can only set them with the tools they may need later in life!!!
