Super warm and great at keeping you dry.
Warmth/waterproofThis jacket was actually really warm. I was snowboarding in 20 degree weather and I was actually hot. I also wore it around and it kept me extremely hot. The jacket was also waterproof. I was snowboarding in the snow and fell a couple of times and at no point did the jacket get wet.ColorThe jacket I got was the white one. It’s actually a very bright white color. It is also designed for high visability so I was actually kind of easy to spot even in low visability.UtilityThe jacket had a ton of really deep big pockets. It made carrying things around a lot easier. The only downside was that the “phone” pocket (located on the inside of the jacket near the breast area) is actually really small and didn’t even come close to fitting my iPhone 8. It does have a slightly bigger pocket underneath that pocket but if you’re snowboarding or skiing your phone would be in an uncomfortable spot as it pokes you. This isn’t a big deal but it was a little annoying.Material/qualityThe jacket is made from really nice warm materials. It is a bit thicker than traditional snowboarding jackets but it was still really high quality. The stitching was really well done as well. The fur is also really nicely made. It got wet a couple of times and it always dried nicely and has not gotten matted and gross like most other fux fur.OverallI would totally recommend this jacket. I used it around town as well as snowboarding and it did a great job at keeping me warm and dry. It’s a nice fitting jacket and looks actually quite stylish and it’s a thicker coat. The only downside was the phone pocket but it’s just a minor inconvenience.

WARM & LIGHTWEIGHT
I needed a warm jacket that wouldn’t be heavy to wear in car.I’m a courier & in & out of car all day, so I wanted something comfortable, warm & wears well. Took a chance on this jacket, ordered an xl & it fit perfect. Covers below the butt….so no chills up the back!

EXTREMELY HEAVY
This is a good quality jacket that will certainly keep you warm if you are a tall person. The reason I removed 1 star is because of the heaviness of the jacket; this jacket weighs at least 10 pds. That’s what the postal office said. I’m short, 5’2″. This jacket is good for medium to tall women, 5’7″ and over. The sleeves on me were 6 inches too long. The hood was so big, it was swallowing me up. The hood was big enough to fit 3 heads in there. I usually wear between 1-2X but I got a 3x for room to spare for heavy sweater. It was a bit tight at the chest. I am quite busted, 42 DD and wear a size 16 pants. I was ok at the hips. Hope this helps you ladies. Note to Alpine North: Is it necessary to make this jacket so heavy? It’s not very comfortable having to carry extra weight on your body coming from a jacket.

Quality well made warm coat with many thoughtful extras
This is a very well made, high quality coat. I would say it fit about to size maybe slightly smaller than expected but not necessarily to increase your size. I like that the hood was detachable and still left a collar to zip up around your neck.Cuffs in the sleeves to help keep snow out of your jacket. A thoughtful thumbhole in the cuff if needed for even more added stability. It is not as bulky as the popular puffer coats but it is fairly heavy and does have some bulk so for those looking for a light lighter midweight winter jacket this may not suit your purpose although it is not marshmallow man bulk.It had a lot of extras like interior pockets the thumb hole and other thoughtful things that you wouldn’t think you needed until you have them.It’s an attractive well-made very warm coat. I would recommend it for those who are active outdoors and in need of a warm coat.

Everything I was hoping for.
While I live in Charlotte, NC, where the winters are usually mild, we are traveling to Buffalo for Christmas and while there going to a Bills football game. I knew that I needed a heavy winter coat. I read so many reviews and decided on this one. Let me say that I am not someone that spends a lot of money on single items, but at $180 this coat is worth every penny and more. It is obvious why this coat is on the more expensive side – it’s very well made and heavy. The pockets are fleece lined and big enough for hands and a phone. There is a pocket on one upper arm maybe for earbuds or something else small. There are also two decent sized pockets on the inside of the coat. The coat zips up easily and has snaps as well. The sleeves are cuffed with thumb holes. There are also snaps on the each side (outside of coat) where you can tighten the waist about an inch or two. The hat is heavy and the faux fur lining will definitely keep the wind out, but is a bit oversized so it may be hard to see side-to-side. I am 5’6″, weigh between 165 and 170 and I got the XL to make sure I had room to layer if needed. The coat fit slightly big, exactly what I wanted. The length is just below my butt, which is perfect. And the blue color is beautiful and as pictured. I can’t wait to test this in Buffalo next month.Update: We went to the Bills/Patriots game in Buffalo. Temperatures were in the single digits. I did have on layers with such low temperatures, but I did not get cold. In fact, heading back to our vehicle, I was actually too warm. I would have been warm with less layers. This coat is 10 out of 10 for warmth!

I have never bought a coat without trying it on , so this was very risky for me to spend this kind of money without seeing it first. I was so happy when I opened the package and put it on. It fit exactly as the ad said it would. I am an XL and this coat still gives ne room to put on a heavy sweater and not feel like it’s too tight. The sleeve length is perfect and it is very warm. I wore it while we had a couple of weeks of -35 weather. I fed horses every day and was very comfortable. The hood is nice and big and even has a drawstring to tighten it up around the face in a blizzard. I like that the collar has fleece on the inside so when you zipper it all the way up it’s soft and warm against the face. It also has a nice little waist adjustment on the side on the outside that allows you to bring in the waist a couple of inches if you want that trimmer silhouette.The only thing that I wish is that it had a real fur trim. Faux fur is ratty and so not high end. All faux fur is made from petroleum products and I would much rather have a trim that is organic.It would look and feel much nicer and be actually being warmer as that what fur does.Other than that I am very happy with this product and am impressed with the quality that Alpine North puts into this product as well as the sizing that is so accurate.

This is such an amazing jacket! It is bar-none the warmest one that I have ever owned. I only need one layer of clothes underneath it, where my past jackets have needed several layers to keep me warm. The fit is great, with long sleeves. The high neck has a soft lining, and snaps up comfortably, so that a scarf is not really needed. The main pockets are very large. The hood is simply fabulous! It is very large with alot of long fake fur. My head keeps warm even without a hat. The hood is so large that it almost covers my entire face if I pull it forward.I am so happy with my purchase! Way to go Apine North…you nailed it! 👍

Très beau manteau, confortable, il me fait super bien (moi qui a du poids en trop). Il aurait pu être plus serré, l’air passe dessous. Il est chaud jusqu’à – 14 degrés Celsius. Plus froid que ça, il fait froid, mais c’est peut-être à cause qu’il n’est pas assez serré. Il a une belle longueur, pas trop long ( je mesure 5 pieds 6), le manteau fini sous les fesses. Il cache l’entièreté des fesses. Pour le froid, mettre une veste ou chandail chaud, ça règle le problème. Bon achat, je l’aime beaucoup.

I love this coat. I was nervous ordering online but could not find quality plus size coats in my area. I was very happy I placed the order. The coat is very warm but not heavy. The coats great quality and I anticipate it will last for years to come. I love the pockets and that they aren’t small. They are nice and roomy if you have a big phone or just want to have your hands in them to stay warm.Oddly I noticed reviews that mentioned the coat being 10lbs. It definitely is NOT 10lbs. It is a great coat for Canadian winter weather.I got the 4x. I made sure to do a quick measure to ensure best fit. The sizing chart was easy to follow and true to size. I still have room to wear sweaters under the coat of need be.My only disappointment wasn’t with the coat itself but that Alpine North (the vendor) had a huge sale the week I bought my coat. Amazon doesn’t honour the price of the vendor even though they sold it directly from Alpine North.Over all the coat is definitely a quality product and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a good warm coat for winter.
