Budget-friendly ink with a few quirks
Just swapped in these compatible 414A toner cartridges and it’s been quite the printing adventure. The colors come out pretty vibrant, not too far off from the HP originals. That built-in chip works great, printer recognized them right away without any fuss. The page yield is solid, still printing strong after a big project. Installation was straightforward, popped right in like they belonged there. Now for the slightly less crisp bits – while they work well overall, noticed some minor streaking on full-color pages occasionally. The black isn’t quite as deep as HP’s, might bug you if you’re printing lots of text documents. Had a bit of toner dust when installing the cyan cartridge, nothing major but messy. They’re great for everyday printing but might not cut it for pro-level photo prints. If you’re looking to cut printing costs without sacrificing too much quality, these cartridges could be worth a try. They’ve definitely saved me some cash, even if the results aren’t always 100% perfect. Great for home offices or small businesses printing in volume. While they might not match HP’s quality for every single print job, they’ve certainly kept my printer running without breaking the bank. These wallet-friendly cartridges have turned my expensive printing habit into a more manageable expense, most of the time anyway.

So Far, So Good – Installed Chips Worth Premium Price
These appear to be good cartridges for my application. The print is crisp and the colors true. Encountered a minor issue with the yellow cart chip holder being damaged in shipping to the point the chip had fallen out. Was able to put the loose chip back in place without issue. Time will tell whether these deliver the expected page count but optimistic at this point. Not having to transfer chips from OEM carts to reman units is a bonus in my opinion.

Much better than I thought it would be
This worked out way better than I was expecting. I have bought generic toner for our printer before with mixed results, and I was willing to do it again because I figured, hey, even if it doesn’t work out on the first go around, I can actually order this six times before I have paid as much as name-brand HP toner.Previously, the generic toner that I got from Amazon had a problem with the magenta, where every page that was printed from tray 1 would end up with magenta splatters on the left margin. The only way to avoid it was to print from the manual paper feeder or print in black and white. Further, the chips that were installed on that toner made the printer think that the cartridges were empty, even though they were not.I really lucked out this time though. The shipping was fine, the cartridges were well packaged, and it definitely fits my printer (HP M478f-9f). However, this time, *all* of the cartridges work perfectly with bright crisp color, no splatters from any of the colors, AND the printer thinks the cartridges are full! It is awesome to stop getting the notification every time that the ‘printer needs your attention’ and to actually have a real estimate of how much toner is remaining.As a side note, I did go in to the printer settings and disable future updates, as instructed. No problems with that. Then, when I installed the cartridges, it gave me a warning that the toner was not HP certified, so if it breaks my printer it is not under warranty. That’s fine with me. We have been using generic toner for years now with no problem. As long as it is just a warning, and not a statement that the toner will not work, I am totally fine with that; especially for 1/6th the price of HP toner.Anyway, great experience here. Even if one of the toner cartridges hadn’t work out, I would have still ordered more because, again, you would have to order this 6 times before you have paid the price of HP toner. But this time it worked great and the printer even reports the correct amount of toner. Would recommend.

Got these for a replacement in our office HP printer. I am not very tech savvy, so I was worried it would be difficult to set up. It was pretty simple to disable the printer updates, I just had to google instructions for my specific model. Once I did this it works wonderfully! I don’t notice a difference in the colors from the HP brand, but since it is for admin office use, it doesn’t really matter. I definitely recommend this to save a ton of $$$!
